Furore is nicknamed the town that doesn’t exist, because of its houses that are not next to each other but emerge from the rock that surrounds the beach. Our restaurant is located in the highest place in the Furore area and enjoys the best view.
It is famous for the grandiose murals that are an integral part of the landscape and for the small fishing village around the fjord known throughout the world.
The Furore Fjord is full of charm, the sun only peeps out in the early afternoon, thus enjoying a cool climate even in summer.
The fjord is made up of a deep crack in the rock and is crossed by the Schiato torrent that slides quickly from the Agerola plateau.
These deep inlets and overhanging rocks are typical of the landscapes of northern Europe and Furore also takes on the physical connotations typical of those fairytale landscapes, blending them with Mediterranean smells and atmospheres; as in every enchanting place, even here there is no shortage of legends.
Since 1997 it has been included by UNESCO, along with other places on the Amalfi Coast, in the World Heritage Sites. Furore, with its 800-odd inhabitants, has also become part of the club of the “Most Beautiful Villages in Italy”.
